“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.” – Hal Borland
This has been the strangest of winters; it almost feels like spring in winter’s cloak. I always feel like winter is a time to wait: for flowers, for gardens, for warmer weather and bright blue skies. So, while we are waiting, let’s enjoy ourselves and prepare for sunny days and cool breezes. We’ve got ideas to make February fun and interesting and productive.
Make a date.

Even with all of the great technology available, nothing beats an attractive calendar. Since it is February, they are all reduced; this one was found at Target. It is sitting on my desk, and brings a smile daily.
Book a new adventure.

When I saw that Marie Benedict’s new historical fiction featured the famous Mitford sisters, I was all in. I have just started it, but it covers the sisters Facist shenanigans between World War I and World War II. Jo Jo Myers is a British writer, and I have only recently discovered her work. Looking forward to reading The Horse Dancer since it is about a girl and her horse; I can relate.
Find a new design source.

Did you know that The Wall Street Journal has a weekend edition that features decorating and design? It is sold on local newstands. There are lots of fashion tips, entertaining and travel suggestions, plus an extensive book review section. I love discovering a new, inspirational reading option.
Travel in your dreams.

Summer vacation is right around the corner, and airplane fares are the cheapest they have been in years. How about London? Rick Steves is a reknown travel expert; I just purchased his 2023 book just in case the right opportunity arises. Beautiful Victoria Magazine has a spread on Ireland; sign me up!
