“Good wine is a necessity of life for me.” — Thomas Jefferson
Do you have the same refined taste for vino as Mr. Jefferson? The good news is that an award-winning Virginia winery is in our neighborhood. Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery is a family owned and operated farm winery born from the owner’s desire to preserve the rural beauty of the Commonwealth, while building a legacy of excellence for future generations. Located south of Winchester, just outside of Stephen’s City, the 18-acre farm is steeped in history. The Federal-style brick main house dates to 1807 and offers a tasting room plus a variety of entertaining space.
For added spice, the house is supposedly haunted. Come hear first hand accounts of the activity of the resident ghosts – from the woman in the cellar that calls for help to the spirit of a boy perpetually locked in an attic room. You can sign up for dinner, vino and a hint of paranormal activity. The website has details and ticket information.
