“He doth nothing but talk of his horse.” —William Shakespeare
Middleburg, the enclave of Virginia’s horsey set, is only 30 miles down Route 50 from Winchester. So, grab your mask and take the trip with us. Where else could you see a concrete dog wearing a tie? You don’t need a horse, but you do need a sense of fun. Here. We. Go.
Enjoy a Stylish Social Distance.
Middleburg is small, but there is still plenty of room to social distance. We love to window shop, but The Fun Shop seemed the perfect place to stop in. It is setup like a mini-department store with home goods and gift items and clothes.

Eat, Drink and Wear a Mask.
Who doesn’t like a good cider? At the Wild Hare, you can social distance on their stylish patio. While the pub is now open, you can also get cider to go!

Explore Tabletop Treasures.
You know that we can’t resist pretty tabletop items for party preparation. Several stores had lovely napkins and china for sale; the horsey theme gets full attention here! We fell in love with Creme de la creme. Can you believe that these are melamine?

Experience History that is Present.
Founded in 1954, the National Sporting Library & Museum tells the story of the sporting life through books, art and interactive exhibits. Middleburg, with its hunt country vibe, is the perfect spot to learn about the rich heritage and tradition of country pursuits. They are now welcoming visitors again; remember to wear a mask and social distance. Add a little culture to your trip!
