“Pink isn’t just a color, it’s an attitude!” — Miley Cyrus
At the Feltner Group, we are in the pink! Hope your spirits are just as bright. On a cold February day, it is uplifting to dream about spring. Our thoughts immediately turn to The Bloom. Pink is one of the annual festival’s official colors; we are immediately drawn to anything that inspires us in that direction. Here are some of our favorite sources:
- Flower Magazine. Flowers are not just for the table anymore. Imagine living in a garden all over your home. The magazine’s pages are filled with helpful tips on decor, entertaining and sourcing for parties that include fresh buds. Best idea: always check out the grocery store first! Best tip: buy pink carnations. Group them together en masse in a simple vase. They will be stunning and last (at least) two weeks.
- House Beautiful’s Pink. Now we are talking. Pink (with a dash of bright green) conjurs great memories of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. In this engaging book, you are exposed to every possibility of pink and how it can used, combined and accented in your decor. If you are bashful, start out with pink accent pillows. We are partial to pink and white stripes.
- Reese Witherspoon’s Whiskey in a Teacup. Reese is a southern girl; she knows her way around movie set and a dinner party. The book offers suggestions for the perfect meal; pink plays a starring and supporting role throughout the pages. Reese includes her favorite biscuit recipe; she still writes thank you notes, too! We are all about a proper note, especially when the dinner party menu includes biscuits.
All of the above sources can be found in retailers around town. The local library may have them as well. Get in the pink and join us as we count down to The Bloom. This year’s theme is Forever Apple Blossom. Already, there’s big news on the high profile celebrities that will serve as Grand Marshall and Queen Shenandoah XCIII.
