“The fire is winter’s fruit.” – Arabian Proverb
The above quote underlines how imporant firepits have become during the pandemic. Backyards and patios are now outdoor entertainment spaces, even in December. Light the pit, and bring on the fun. We have a few ideas on celebrating the upcoming Yule while still socially distancing in the great outdoors.
Start at the very beginning.
At first glance, a bare table on a brick patio doesn’t seem very welcoming.
Add a colorful backdrop.
First, cover the table with a fleece or blanket with a holiday color twist. Now, include a holiday plate to get the party started. I love reindeers, so I have a set of vintage-styled plates that I have collected over the years.
Give Rudolph a place at the table.
Set the outdoor table with the same good taste you usually reserve for indoors. Rudolph is always stylish and festive, so make certain to give him a good seat. These napkin rings say fun and flair.
Rock the table with RED.
Aren’t these red bottle brush trees cute? I found them at the grocery story. I afixed them to a place card and added the names in red. They also serve as a favor and special remembrance of the evening.
Pepper the setting with nature.
A friend gave me these cute deer salt and pepper shakers. Details such as these underscore the outdoor setting and reflect the holiday spirit.
