“I seek the land of Ireland.” Amairin, 2nd Century, B.C.
Recently, the luck of the Irish was with us. At the Blue Ridge Association Realtor Awards, The Feltner Group took home the TOP award for teams and Kira Grubb won the “Rookie of the Year” for 2019. In truth, we made our own luck through lots of hard work combined with your help and support. We tip our (green) hat to our great clients and families and friends. Our success is your success.
There are many legends associated with St. Patrick. The symbol of the shamrock comes from the story of St. Patrick using the shamrock to illustrate the Holy Trinity. The three-leafed plant coincided with the Pagan religion’s sanctity of the number three; the green color symbolizes the root. Traditional Irish feasts, green beer and local parades are modern day interpretations.
Here are suggestions to make your St. Patrick’s Day special:
- Host an Irish dinner. Corn beef, cabbage, soda bread and potatoes are a good place to start. Check out the Dollar Tree’s St. Patty’s Day paper products and add in white china dinner plates (dishwasher safe). Make this an annual family tradition. Stylish and festive and economical — our motto!
- Read. Over the past three centuries, Irish poetry and prose have offered readers a wide variety of themes and styles. Visit your local library and ask for anything by James Joyce, William Butler Yeats or Maeve Binchy.
- Wear green. You might even find you want to learn the Irish jig!
