“It’s always teatime,” The Madhatter
This Valentine’s Day, treat your dolls to a special event. Of course, they can bring their owners, too. We think that Alice had the right idea: a cup of tea and some sweets are always welcome. Make this Valentine’s Day memorable. Here are some ideas:
Host a Tea. We think the dolls should celebrate the day of love. American Girl Dolls are very popular for tea, but there are other choices. The stuffed animals seen above are from the CVS toy department. Every tea should include a ballerina and a unicorn! Naturally. Also, CVS has plastic and china tea sets. Target has a good selection, too. We are partial to Blue Willow tea sets and china, though.
Create your own invitation. Get the kids involved. Construction paper and markers are all that is needed for something cute. Hand deliver the invites with a small box of candy. Conversation hearts are always fun.
Devise a kid menu. How about peanut butter and jelly mini-sandwiches shaped like hearts? A cookie cutter is all you need. Put together a hot chocolate bar so kids can fix their own mini-tea cups with red hots and other delicacies.
Don’t forget the favors. The Dollar Tree is our regular go to for seasonal table decor. The current Valentine’s selection includes pink dogs and white bears. Include one of these at each table setting. Tie a cute bow with a valentine around each animal to indicate the child or doll’s name. Voila! You now have a favor, place card and table decoration all in one. Easy and chic and inexpensive – our favorite combination.
Enjoy! Doesn’t this sound like more fun than a stuffy dinner? We think so.
